LOCKSS is an open code program developed by the Library of the University of Stanford that allows libraries to preserve selected web journals searching regularly in registered journals to collect new published content and archive it. Each archive is continually validated with records from other libraries, so that any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself.
