RAN Seeking Expand Editorial Committee
Dear Colleagues,
RAN – Revista Academia & Negocios, a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Escuela de Administración y Negocios at Universidad de Concepción (Chile), invites applications from qualified scholars interested in joining the journal's Editorial Committee.
RAN is a relatively young journal that is currently indexed in SciELO and Scopus. The journal aims to strengthen the dissemination of research relevant to developing economies, particularly within Spanish-speaking academic communities, while maintaining an international academic dialogue. For this reason, applicants must demonstrate strong proficiency in both English and Spanish.
Editorial Committee members will collaborate closely with the Editor in Chief in managing the peer-review process. Each editor will typically handle between three and five manuscripts per year. This role is ad honorem.
The main responsibilities include:
- Conducting an initial assessment of submitted manuscripts to evaluate their fit with the scope of the journal and the novelty of their contribution.
- Identifying and inviting appropriate peer reviewers.
- Monitoring the review process and ensuring timely communication.
- Providing a final recommendation to the Editor in Chief regarding whether the manuscript should proceed in the review process or be rejected.
Because editors will work with confidential and sensitive academic material, the journal seeks researchers with strong ethical standards and demonstrated experience in scientific publishing. Candidates must hold a PhD and have a solid publication record.
Applicants should also demonstrate robust expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Marketing and communication
- Technology adoption
- Bibliometrics, PRISMA methodologies, econometrics, PLS, SEM, and related quantitative methods
- Qualitative research methods
- Financial education and business education
- Innovation
- Governance and management systems
- ESG and sustainability
- Social responsibility
- Entrepreneurship
- Human resource management
Editors are expected to respond promptly to editorial communications to confirm their availability when manuscripts are assigned.
Scholars interested in collaborating with RAN are invited to send an email to (ran@udec.cl) including:
1. A brief summary of their experience in scientific publishing.
2. An updated ORCID link.
Submitted candidates will be evaluated using a rubric designed to assess their academic experience, publication record, and alignment with the journal's scope. This rubric is available on our website at ran.udec.cl.
We also kindly invite you to share this call with colleagues who may be interested in contributing to the development of RAN.
We appreciate your interest in contributing to the development of RAN and supporting the advancement of research in business and management, particularly in developing economies.
Sincerely,
Editor in Chief
