Abstract

Purpose: The purpose is to know and analyze the interaction among automation in organizational processes, administrative knowledge, organizational information systems and business resource planning systems and their impact in the practice of economic science professionals.

Methodology: Bibliographic research method.

Results: changes in organizations led them to shift from an industrial economy to another where information is key to their survival, thus, information management becoming a key element. In relation to administrative knowledge, changes are verified in the way in which they are operated and consequently in the practice of professionals of economic science.

Implications: administrative knowledge is in a process of learning, redesigning, transformation and execution depending on the level of automation and changes in information systems.

Originality/value: This study opens up the possibility to conduct research on the characteristics and differences of diverse types of organizations about which studies and administrative knowledge by economic science professionals were revealed.
