In his book, Successions due to death and the Digital Environment (2026), Professor Barba demonstrates that digital inheritance presents an opportunity to rethink the meaning of inheritance law as an instrument not only intended to distribute assets, but also to protect the memory, identity, and dignity of individuals beyond death. His main contribution lies in showing that the challenges of digital transformation can be addressed without abandoning the principles and traditional regulations governing inheritance, by reinterpreting its rules from a perspective centered on protecting human dignity, personality rights, and the autonomy of the deceased.
