This article aims to analyze the Alternative Exits Program (PSA), which aims to ensure that the conditions of the conditional suspension of penal process are met to avoid a judicial sanction for a crime committed through the strengthening of protective factors of children and adolescents enrolled in National Juvenile Social Reinsertion Service (ex-Sename). The study focused on identifying individual, social, and community factors influencing youth recidivism while examining the program's implementation in the Biobío Region during 2019–2023. This analysis utilized document review and interviews with key program stakeholders. Results highlight the predominant role of social factors in recidivism, alongside the need for enhanced professional training, recognition of the MMIDA intervention method, improved admission processes with courts, differentiated intervention plans, and post-exit monitoring.
