At the beginning of the 20th century, the literary magazine found its apogee in Mexico. The aim of this work is to reveal two publications —Taller poético (1936-1938) and Poesía (1938)—, which were born at a time when surrealism is beginning to settle in the Aztec country, and to search in them for the trace of the Breton movement, considering that both tried to present the poetic tendencies of the moment. To do this, we will make a presentation of each magazine to then reveal those poems in which surrealist features are noticed in order to show how in those years surrealism was in a still incipient state.
