El trabajo presenta de manera sucinta tres temas: monstruos de la fantasía anteriores al surgimiento de los vampiros, formación de su arquetipo a partir de sucesos en Europa del Este y las variantes de su estereotipo hasta nuestro siglo. De un proceso cadavérico natural malentendido surgió la idea de su sed de sangre, la cual evolucionó hasta la humanización y más aún, su visión como superhéroes.
