On the notion of belief in jacobi’s realism and ist impact on hegel’s philosophy

First, the problem of faith and freedom in the Letters is addressed to identify an initial distinction between reason and understanding in Jacobian thought. Second, the concept of belief is examined present in Jacobi's realism to contrast this perspective with the notions of belief present in the philosophies of Hume and Kant. Finally, the aim is to understand the impact of Jacobi's philosophy on Hegel's thought, based on a critical reappropriation that would lead to the unavoidable logical relationship between immediacy and mediation.
