In this article, we analyze the function and representation of eroticism in Natalia Berbelagua’s Valporno. We propose to interpret the collection of stories from two concepts to understand the scope of the erotic phenomenon in the text: “Asymmetry of power” and “Ritualization of the abject.” For this purpose, we carry out an analysis based on diverse resources from literary theory, philosophy, and psychology.
