In this article, we partially analyze the work of Tacitus, one of the greatest authors of the ancient world, written within the period of uttermost apogee of the Roman Empire. Specifically, we emphasize the perspective assumed by the autor in front of the other, the one who is different; in this case, the peoples inhabitating beyond the imperial border Additionally, we stress the romanized condition of the world in which Tacitus lives, that determines the author's sight and attitude towards the object under examination.
