Editorial Process
Editorial Process
The journal accepts submissions throughout the year exclusively through its OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform. Authors must register on the website in order to submit a manuscript.
Once a manuscript has been received, the journal acknowledges receipt through OJS or by email. Throughout the editorial process, authors can check the status of their submission through the platform.
Preliminary Evaluation
All submissions undergo an initial editorial review. At this stage, the journal assesses their thematic relevance, suitability for publication, compliance with submission requirements, and originality. As part of this preliminary review, the originality of submissions is verified using Compilatio software.
The Editorial Board may reject submissions that do not fit the journal’s scope, fail to comply with formal requirements, or do not meet the conditions necessary to proceed to the next stage.
Evaluation of Articles
Research and reflective articles undergo external peer review under a double-blind system. Every effort is made to ensure that authors and reviewers remain unaware of each other’s identities.
The evaluation considers, among other aspects:
- originality and contribution to the discipline;
- relevance and currency of the bibliography;
- methodological and conceptual rigor;
- appropriate use of sources;
- clarity of argumentation;
- quality of presentation and references.
Possible decisions include:
- acceptance;
- acceptance subject to revisions;
- resubmission for further evaluation;
- rejection.
When the reviewers’ reports present substantial disagreements, the Editorial Board may request an additional report or make a reasoned editorial decision based on the available evidence.
Other Contributions
Notes, book reviews, translations, and Dossier contributions are assessed editorially by the journal’s Editorial Board according to their thematic relevance, academic quality, and suitability for the corresponding section. These contributions do not necessarily undergo the external peer-review process applied to articles.
Editing and Production
Accepted texts proceed to the editing stage, during which the incorporation of requested revisions is verified and any necessary copyediting and bibliographic standardization are carried out.
The contribution is then prepared for publication in accordance with the journal’s graphic and technical standards. The final version is sent to the authors for review and approval prior to publication.
