La Virtue Ethics as a Critique of Modernity: MacIntyre’s Communitarian Proposal

In the present paper -based on a schematic presentation of procedural ethics held by Habermas- we aim at emphasizing on some of the most interesting aspects, from our point of view, of moral and political counter-proposition raised by communitarist philosopher Alasdair MacIntyre. Therefore, we will focus all our attention on two of his most important books: After Virtue (1981) and Dependent Rational Animals (1999).
