Abstract

The present work investigates in what measure the philosophy of Descartes is constructed on the paradigm of mathematics as the French philosopher understood them. It proposes that it will be the mathematical way of thinking that allows to create the philosophy of certainty and to inaugurate thereby the modern way of thinking.
