Indexicality and reflexivity

Abstract

This article aims to elucidate the logical mechanisms which account for the linguistic function of indexical expressions. To achieve this, I will use the concept of reflexivity to articulate the aforesaid elucidation. The latter intends to develop the Reichenbachian point of view, without intending to carry out an explicit defense of the theses on indexicals inspired by Hans Reichenbach’s work. This development of Reichenbach’s perspective will show a possible solution to  Fregean descriptivist paradoxes derived from the conflictive admission of the cognitive component within the field of semantics. This solution will include some key ideas of referentialism.
