In this paper I will discuss the concept of motion as developed by Kant in the first two chapters of his Metaphysical foundations of natural science, i. e. in Phoronomy and Dynamics. The concept of motion is a key notion in Kant's philosophy of science, but in my opinion is not only important for this reason, but also because it sheds light on the underlying worldview of the Critique of Pure Reason, so that an analysis of the concept of motion in Kant is not only fundamental to understand his metaphysics of natural science, but also to understand his general metaphysics of nature developed in the Critique of Pure Reason.
