Abstract

The article examines the philosophical problem of plurality and diversity in the contemporary world from the perspective of gender theory. It argues that modern philosophy, having historically been constructed from an androcentric perspective, has rendered female experience largely invisible and has formulated the idea of a universal subject that in fact corresponds to a male subject. Drawing on feminist authors and thinkers such as Hannah Arendt, it is argued that plurality should not be understood merely as a diversity of opinions, but rather as a diversity of situations, identities, and subjects participating in the common world. The article analyzes several historical examples of the exclusion of women from the production of knowledge, proposing the concept of gender as an analytical category that allows us to distinguish between biological differences and cultural constructions. Finally, it suggests that incorporating a gender perspective constitutes one of the fundamental challenges for contemporary philosophical thought, as it enables the visibility of historically marginalized subjects and enriches a plural understanding of social reality
