This reflective article approached the concept of liquid love from psychoanalysis, understanding it as an effect of capitalist discourse and the consequences on the love bond. Likewise, liquid love was understood from the concept of the unconscious. Methodologically, a description of the shift from Discourse of the Master to the Discourse of Capitalism and its impact on liquid love was made, in order to finally warn of the unconscious determinants of love. It was evidenced that the freedom that liquid love supposes is restricted by the unconscious traits that determine the choice of partner and it was concluded that the capitalist discourse redoubles the structural liquidity of jouissance over current love bonds.
