La francmasonería y su influencia en la educación en Concepción

Abstract

This article examines the growth of the Free Masons in Concepcion (Chile) from the middle of the XIX Century and studies the role of the Masons as regards the idea of creating an institution of higher studies, without any doctrinal influence, that would eventually become called the University of Concepcion. Also the idea of creating a Masonic Educational Corporation in Concepcion with the object of establishing lay education is examined.
