Hispania visigoda, centuries VI-VIIIAbstract
The problems related to the concentration of power around the royal figure can be understood as the result of the process of transition from Classic Antiquity to the Middle Ages. Indeed Late Antiquity (centuries IV-VII) presents itself as a period of institutional confrontation between the royalty and the nobility, which culminated with the weakening of the first and the strengthening of the second. In the present study we are centering our analysis on the Hispano-Visigoth kindgom of Toledo (centuries VI-VIII), whose historical sources reflect with great intensity the difficulties met by the Hispano-Visigoth monarchs in their attempts to politically unify Hispania.
