Abstract

Looking at the horror of the more than 25 millions of deaths during the First World War, it is important to mark that several hundreds of thousands of them were the consequences of the decisions made by their own armies in order to eliminate them. The purpose of this article is to reveal this phenomenon, explain the political contexts more than the military ones of such circumstances and, also, mainly, present the duty of memory and of historiographical rebuilding essential until nowadays with the intention of not leaving this in the oversight and prevent its reproduction in the future.
