Abstract

The Chilean historical process has played an exceptional role in the events of the center-periphery relationship that took place in Latin America during the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century. The radical governments that preceded the presidency of Jorge Alessandri Rodríguez, implemented a series of industrialist policies that, deliberately or not, meant energetic steps forward in the direction of developmentalism that would later be preached by ECLAC in its collaborative action with the Alliance for Progress promoted by the Democratic government of JF Kennedy.
