The objective of this research is to recognize the different political and administrative challenges that occurred in the province of Talca, created by law in 1833, in relation to the installation of a new Intendancy and its corresponding subordinate officials such as subdelegates and inspectors. By this we refer to their functioning and behavior, emphasizing their ability to coordinate among themselves and their aptitudes and capabilities. It will be through the analysis of documents from the Ministry of internal affairs, Intendancy and Municipalities, that we will notice the precarious situation of the state administration at the provincial level, especially in places further away from the provincial capitals.
