About the Journal
The Journal of History is a publication of the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the University of Concepción. Its first issue was published in 1991. Since 2006, the journal has published two issues annually, and in 2014, it transitioned to digital format. In 2023, the journal adopted a continuous publication model. It is currently indexed in the SciELO, SCOPUS, EBSCO, ERIHPLUS, Latindex Catalog 2.0, and MIAR databases.
Since 2016, the Journal of History has been receiving articles from the perspective of "problem history," focusing on studies of the past approached from multiple viewpoints. Currently, it emphasizes inter and transdisciplinary analyses. The journal is directed at specialists and students interested in the history of Chile, Latin America, Anglo-American history, and Europe, as well as researchers from other disciplinary fields who seek to establish connections with regional history and microhistory.
The journal accepts original and unpublished articles in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. In addition to strictly adhering to the editorial guidelines and directives of the journal, articles must present a research problem, along with a hypothesis, objectives, theoretical framework, use of sources, bibliographic discussion, and study methodology.
Dossiers for evaluation are also accepted, which must include a minimum of six publishable articles. Additionally, book reviews and interviews with notable figures in historiography and other fields of knowledge are welcomed.
