Resumen

Los estudios migratorios recientes han impulsado que la historiografía romana, en las últimas décadas, efectúe una revisión a la movilidad y migración en la antigüedad grecorromana. El presente artículo tiene como propósito principal analizar la migración en el siglo II d. de C. del gobernador Plinio el Joven a la provincia oriental de Bitinia-Ponto. Este estudio se desarrolla metodológicamente a través de su fuente principal, el Epistolario, cuya riqueza literaria proporciona un sinnúmero de claves para el estudio de la movilidad humana como patrón de conducta, describiendo aspectos de la migración a las ciudades y haciendo posible reconstruir los roles desempeñados por los funcionarios públicos desplazados, los viajes, las relaciones étnicas, culturales y multiculturales que se presentan en el imperio, vista por un experto jurista, político y literato del alto imperio.
