This study aimed to analyze occupational safety in the eastern region of El Salvador by identifying the conditions that affect employee health, with a particular emphasis on industrial safety and ergonomics. Using a mixed-methods approach and both hypothetical-deductive and inductive methods, a descriptive and socio-critical study was conducted involving 102 employees. A discrepancy was found between employees’ perceptions of safety policies and the actual working conditions. Ergonomics, task performance, and mental health emerged as critical areas of concern. The study revealed a high prevalence of occupational diseases and a lack of occupational health coverage. It was concluded that both industrial safety and ergonomics significantly impact employee health, and that no health or occupational risk prevention programs are currently in place.
