This project aimed to standardize a suitable work area for evaluation technicians at Controladora Mabe S.A. de C.V., specifically in the Line 2 booth or the assembly area. The research sought to eliminate adverse ergonomic situations and unnecessary movements, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment for the evaluators. The Deming methodology was used: Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) for the development of the project. The materials and methods included determining necessary inputs, analyzing the current layout, and developing prototypes of ergonomic work tables.
The results showed the successful implementation of a proposed layout and prototypes of tables designed to improve working conditions. A reduction of three unnecessary movements per audited unit was achieved and a decrease of two minutes and six seconds in evaluation time per unit in subsequent audits. These improvements validate the effectiveness of applying ergonomic principles and the PHVA methodology, to optimize workstations and document a standard design for future implementations. It is concluded that an adequate workstation design is crucial to avoid work hazards and optimize performance.
