Urban-territorial participation in the commune of Arauco: Collective discourses about the territorial tensions

The present study seeks to describe territorial discourses of a political-cultural nature about the participation of individuals in civil society organizations in the commune of Arauco. For this purpose, the Grounded Theory method was used. In terms of methodology, this research was conducted with a qualitative approach, holding in-depth dialogs with 12 collective organizations, whose representatives belong to rural and urban areas. The research was carried out based on an analytical basis using methods of constant comparison and discourse analysis. The results presented in this study are related to three axial categories which contribute to the understanding, based upon the discourses, of urban-territorial participation in the commune of Arauco.
