Abstract

The objective of this work is the creation of a public policy for the management and recycling of household waste in the Villarrica commune, Region of La Araucanía, which allows the generation of a household waste management system that considerably reduces the amount of waste that is deposited in landfills, through public-private strategic alliances that will be solved through tripartite financing between the public sector, the private sector and the citizenship. This public policy involves local actors through the structure of a multi-stakeholder citizen participation model, is led by the local government and involves citizen participation, which is in crisis, thanks to the low participation of the actors in interaction. This policy will generate a positive impact on the environment and will improve the quality of life of all the inhabitants of the Villarrica commune and its surroundings.
