Abstract

The circular economy stands as a revolutionary economic paradigm that aspires to transform linear production and consumption models into more sustainable and efficient systems. This article carries out an exhaustive analysis of the conceptual foundations, practical applications and potential benefits of the circular economy, placing special emphasis on its implementation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and local economies. By analyzing the synergies between the circular economy and the Sustainable Development Goals, the study reveals concrete opportunities for the creation of shared value, business innovation and the regeneration of ecosystems. Thus, an economic horizon is outlined where sustainability is not an obstacle, but the main engine of growth and social welfare, offering a robust framework for strategic decision-making in companies and governments committed to a resilient and prosperous future.
