THE DAILY CONTRACEPTIVE PRACTICES: AN ETHNOGRAPHIC STUDY IN A COMMUNITY OF SÁO PAULO CITY - BRASIL

The aim of this study was to know the care beliefs and valúes of women's daily anticonception practices. The theorethical framework of Leininger was used, and the methodology adopted was the ethnographic. The participan! observation of the context and interviews involving fourteen women were utilized in the collection of data. They were analyzed according to the method proposed by Spradley from where twelve cultural domains emerged, such as the cultural theme: At hazard of everyday Ufe of contraception: the woman follozoing her course. These data were analysed according to the "Sunrise Model". The way the woman perceives, knows and practices her contraception care activities was utilized to subsidize the comprehensivo planning for the nursing care in anticonception area.
