SELF-ACTUALIZATION AND EDUCATION IN NURSING. PRELIMINARY RESULS

This issue describes the preliminary findings of an experimental research of pre and post-test with a control groups, to determine the effect that a Human Interaction Workshop on nursing student Self-actualization. In it the Shostrom's "Personal Orientation Inventory" P.O.I. is used, validated for Chile by Celis et al (1976). The experimental and control groups are constituted by 102 and 40 nursing students each one from the Concepción and Bio-Bio Chillan seat universities respectively. Using the "t" student, it is seen in the pre test data that the groups do not show statistically significant differences, ideal condition to develop the outline established in this study . Besides it is possible to notice the Self-actualization diagnostic of the young people studying nursing at the 8a región and the valuable projections that this study will count once concluded are inferred.
