Objective: To analyze the self-learning experiences of undergraduate nursing students. Material and Method: Qualitative exploratory-descriptive research, with a theoretical approach of critical pedagogy. The data collection technique was a guided group interview, in which 24 undergraduate nursing students participated, divided into 3 focus groups that met weekly for 3 weeks. Each session was videotaped. Content analysis with axial coding was used for data analysis. The analysis tool was the categorization matrix. Results: 3
categories emerged after the analysis: “Motivation for self-learning”, “Self-learning strategies” and “Consulting videos through digital platforms Tik-Tok and YouTube”. Conclusions: Students automatically integrate YouTube and Tik-Tok as tools for self- learning, using them to consult information or watch videos of procedures to resolve doubts and improve clinical skills, highlighting their passive role by consuming information in an uncritical way.
