EVALUATION OF PROGRAMS AND PROJECT DEVELOPED DURING THE PRACTICE: DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING OF NURSING CARE MODALITIES

The herein study is an evaluative investigation with the following Objective: to determine the effectiveness, continuity and applicability of the programs and projects developed by the professors and students of VIII semester, School of Nursing, doing last semester in organizations such as Hospitals, Education, Companies, Communities and Geriatrics. The evaluation of the effectiveness, continuity and applicability have as referents: the confrontation of achievements and objectives of the developed projects looking to solve alternatives to the identified problems; to guaranty the continuity of the projects or the resulting actions, the pertinence through time and if new strategies or activities have emerged or if the institution has used mechanisms to guaranty it and the applicability to determine if the programs or projects are useful or satisfy the needs of the population of such institutions (16) and if they are in force, and to verify the changes or contributions which might occur in the context, during its development and performance. The Methodology: was a documental review (first stage) of
131 projects developed from 1997 to 2004, classified in Educative (capacitance and educative programs), Administrative (management of programs, organization of areas and functions and implementation of strategies) and Assistance (home care and follow up actions); and the application of a survey to persons responsible of the follow up actions and continuity of the projects at the 16 institutions (second stage). Results: In the revision of the document it was found that most of the developed projects are educative (52.3%), administrative (45.3%) and assistance (2.4%); in relation to the effectiveness of the projects the programmed objectives and reached achievements comply satisfactorily in a 90% and the strategies are pertinent to the necessities of the population with a coverage of 95%. In relation to the results of the application of the survey, it was found that the following were relevant: 100% of the surveyed people knew and identified the projects developed, even though in the moment of implementation or execution, they did not take part of the responsible area or they did not work at the institution. The indicator of effectiveness, showed that 100% of the projects answered to the needs of the population and of the institution, and the objectives were reached in a 92.8%, with a degree of satisfaction of
85.64%. The evaluation of the continuity showed that 100% of the projects are and continue being significant and pertinent, with a degree of satisfaction of 71.42%; to strengthen its continuity 42.8% of the organizations have generated new strategies or methodologies. The applicability, the third indicator analyzed with relation to the changes or contributions which might had happen in the context or the appearance of new proposals, showed significant results with the contribution of new projects. Conclusions: It is highlighted in the organizations, the development, continuity and applicability of the projects and health programs, not only in health areas but in other areas of service, strengthening nursing role especially in the educative field.
