Abstract

The objective of this work is to determinate the effect of life-based workshop with a humanistic orientation in self-actualization of adolescent of secondary education. The design is an experimental research with the classical pre- test and post test with control group. The sample is not probabilistic and was taken out from two schools of low socioeconomic level at the 8th Region, Chile. The ages of the students were between 17 and 19 years old, to whom measurements with Personal Orientation Inventory, validated for Chile, were applied. The results determined that self-actualization after life-based workshop in the experimental group, showed statistically significant (p<0.05) increments in 8 of 12 dimensions: autonomy, existential living, organismic sensitiveness, self-esteem, self-acceptance, nature of the constructive men, synergy and capacity of intime contact. The result of this study reinforces the conviction that life-based workshop of humanistic
orientation is effective for integral development of the adolescent.
