Materials and Methods: Quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional study with a sample of 440 people living in 31 municipalities in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico, including adults with access to the social networks Facebook and WhatsApp, during April and May 2021. To ensure the reliability of the data, a pilot test was conducted with a small group, which allowed for the detection of errors and adjustments. After informed consent, the COVID-19

then coded and exported to the SPSS software. The sociodemographic variables were: age, gender, marital status, occupation, area of residence, municipality, access to health services, diseases present, relationship of the persons with whom they live. Results: 79 % of the population was female, aged 18-64 years, 66 % were in confinement, 11 % had a disease, 19 % had no access to health services; 57 % expressed fatalism. Conclusions: The population of the state of Hidalgo
