Abstract

Objective: To describe a proposal for incorporating the phenomenon of the global environmental crisis into the curriculum of undergraduate nursing education. Material and Methods: Qualitative, descriptive and
hermeneutic study. Semi-structured interviews were used as a method for collecting information. Sampling
was theoretical and the sample size was determined by saturation criteria (n=15). Source triangulation and
inductive qualitative content analysis were used. Results: Three thematic areas emerged: phases to incorporate
the phenomenon of the global environmental crisis in the curriculum; content proposal; proposal of skills and didactics of teaching and learning in environmental issues. Conclusions: There is a need to develop integrated,
sequential and online curricula that can help incorporate an interdisciplinary perspective in nursing care in the context of the environmental crisis.
