Abstract

This work is a presentation of the book Correr el tupido velo (2009), a biography of the Chilean writer José Donoso, written by his daughter Pilar Donoso, based mostly in his non published diaries. Our reading emphasizes the autobiographic nature of this text: how the daugther generates her identity through the selection and commentaries of these diaries. She outlines herself as a redaer, who exposes her truth by enunciating a recriminatory image of the paternal figure. Thus, her book is understood as a citation of another life; this action inaugurates her own life.
