Abstract

The present work researches the particular kind of aesthetics representation that developed Cambaceres in his novels to inquire about the different critique perspectives of dealing with the female body in consistent with the crisis of the representation of the homeland elaborated by the “generación del ’80”. The purpose of this research is to go beyond the biographic and misogynous vision that was “attached” to the novels of this author. We will analyze the symbolic place and the role that female characters play in these books as a metaphor of the social, economic and political changes that took place in Argentina at the end of the XIX century.
