Borgesian characters are constructed by an agglutination of several intertexts. In Beatriz Viterbo’s case, several canonic figures come together: Beatrice Portinari and Brynhild in first place, and secondarily, Helen of Troy. Besides intertextuality tools, some categories of Roland Barthes’ are used to analyse and interpret this feminine character.
