Distant Star: Crime and poetry

Abstract

We attempt to give a perspective on one of the finest contemporary Chilean writers through Estrella distante (Distant Star) which is, after a certain fashion, a detective novel. This novel develops an interesting narrative structure and offers the reader a powerful opportunity to reconstruct all of his or her concepts about the detective plot and to explore the limits between crime and poetry, sadism and art.
