This article evaluates the decentralization of gender public policies in Chile, focusing on the perspectives of female biomedical professionals in the Province of Arauco. Decentralization has aimed to empower local authorities with greater autonomy to address regional gender inequalities through context-specific policies. This study explores how biomedical professionals perceive and engage with this decentralization process, and how it shapes the promotion of gender equity in healthcare. While notable progress has been made, persistent challenges remain. Key issues include insufficient resource allocation and the lack of continuous professional training, which hinder the effective and sustainable implementation of gender-sensitive health policies. The findings offer valuable insights into the local dynamics of decentralized governance and its potential to transform gender equity within the Chilean healthcare system.
