Abstract

Metropolization is a phenomenon driven by logics associated with the dynamics of cities, where either by physical or functional relationships, a larger city that grows beyond its administrative limits, is linked to one or more nearby cities. This brings with it new ways of managing the territory, no longer based on isolated events, but based on macro management that allows for the implementation and coordination of larger-scale initiatives.

The purpose of this text is to document the progress of a project of this scale in the Metropolitan Area of Concepción called “Ruta del Agua” conceived from the joint work of public actors gathered around a common problem associated with one of its main identity references : urban wetlands.
