Abstract

This article investigates the teaching-learning process of the mathematics 1 in first-year university students of commercial engineering at a private Chilean university. The general objective of the study was to determine the percentage of the final grade of the mathematics course that is explained by the grade obtained on the Aleks platform. The results indicate that there is a linear relationship between the grade obtained by Aleks and the final grade obtained in the subject, finding that the final grade is explained 50% by the grade obtained in the use of the platform. The study supports the continuity of the use of Aleks in the observed subject and complements other studies related to the perceptions that students have about Aleks, which allows Aleks to be projected to other careers in future teachings.
