Abstract

From our professional training and from the interdisciplinary meeting, which as a psychologist and educational psychologist we have been experimenting in the university environment for more than 10 years, the need arises to implement an emotional regulation and anxiety management program throughout the academic trajectory. Through a space "Pedagogical Unit" that we share in the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the National University of La Plata, we find ourselves with the challenge of accompanying the learning processes of the students of said academic unit. From the time that we travel in space, and beyond the complex framework in which university students find themselves, we are challenged by what goes beyond the learning processes themselves, and a study methodology to be built. That "beyond" refers to that and has to do with the complex internal world of emotions in the learning process. Throughout our professional career in the team providing support, guidance and accompaniment to students, we observe the large number of queries that not only refer to the pedagogical (study methodologies) but to what is not explicitly in that area: the emotions. The relevance of recognizing and managing emotions in any learning situation is becoming more and more visible. From the integral perspective of the person in learning, we consider it important to give rise to this issue in the university environment. We recognize the place that is given to the affective-emotional in educational stages prior to higher education, but on few occasions we observe it in this Emotions enter the faculty, as well as all the cultural baggage that each person who studies brings with them and also that he teaches. That is why, in the present work we want to reflect on how emotions are in the university student and how they can be facilitators or obstacles to their academic performance. Through the proposal of a well-being and emotional regulation program, we will share the design of an action plan to give rise to the new demands that today's students bring.
