Abstract

Objective: To determine the factors associated with quality of life among cancer survivors in the Ñuble Region, Chile. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional analytical study. The sample consisted of 44 cancer survivor participants belonging to community support groups in the Ñuble Region, who were recruited using convenience sampling in 2024. The participants were asked to complete a questionnaire to collect sociodemographic, clinical, and behavioral data, as well as the EORTC QLQ-C30 instrument. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (absolute and percentage frequencies, as well as measures of central tendency and dispersion depending on the variable type) and analytical statistics via multivariate linear regression, which was adjusted for age, cancer type, nutritional status, physical activity, psychological support, and perception of humanized care. The study was approved by a Scientific Ethics Committee. Results: Women accounted for 84.1% of the participants, with a mean age of 61 ±
14 years. Significant associations were observed between overall quality of life and age (?= 0.7; 95% CI: 0.1 to 1.3) and the perception of humanized nursing care (?= -56.2; 95% CI: -100.1 to -12.3). Conclusions: As patients grew older, they reported a better perception of quality of life. Furthermore, the perception of humanized care
provided by nursing staff was significantly associated with overall quality of life when adjusted for age, type of cancer, nutritional status, physical activity, and psychological support received.
