The aim of the present study was to appraise the Uncertainty Perception of Diabetes Mellitus Patients in control and factors influencing this process in order to explain and predict their actual level of association. The study group was conformed by 115 patients with Diabetes Mellitus controlled at Herminda Martin, Hospital Speciality Clinic, Chillan, Chile, from december 1994, through february 1995. The study was bases on Merle Mishel Uncertainty Theory and the Mishel Desease Uncertainty Scale (MUIS), was the instrument used. Results turned out statistically significant between Uncertainty Perception with. Educational Level, Family Income Level, Knowlegment Level about the Desease and Self-esteem Level.
