Abstract

A quantitative, descriptivo, retrospective and transversal trial was conducted during 1995 and 1996, in order to find out the Quality concerning the research presentations had, over the IV Pan-American Nursing Research Colloquium and the observed Trends, as well. The research accreditation was carried out, using the Authors own Tool where the minimal requirements about a research report, wrere established, as well as some criteria to classify evidenced trends during this event. EPIINFO Program was used for Data Analysis, specifically Simple Frecuency and X2.
The most remarkable results, were: Authors were Academics, as a majority. A relation although not significant, between academic grades and principal authors, existed. As for trends according areas, the first place is the Assistencial area, then the Academic area, Administration area and the Research in last place. According methodology, most of the studies were quantitatives ones as well as descriptives ones according the main goal. In relation with occurrence, most them were prospectivos ones and transversal when considering period of time. A percentage of the studies, although not worthless, did not achieved some minimal requirements a research report should have.
