A descriptivo study whose aim was to know the adherence to control of hypertension patients of the Arterial Hypertension
Program and the influencing factors. The adherence to control was measured by the existent relationship between the number of citations to control and the attending number to it, expressed in percentage; and the variables associated to adherence with the authorís instrument. In the statistical analysis, X2 test was used. The results reported a considerable number of patients (62.50%) who presented a high adherence to control. The results obtained related significantly adherence with education health modality, education received by the patient from the Health staff, and patient's adaptation to stress when facing a chronic disease. Hypothesis number 1 was approved, resulting statistically significant the relationship between the adherence to control and patientís knowledge regarding where and to whom he may be directed for a necessary help.
