RESEARCH AREAS AND LINES, RESEARCH GROUPS AND CENTERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN NURSING

Abstract

Initially some conceptualization to introduce the topic: Knowledge and research, the researchers (actors), role of the
Doctors in Nursing and research as a condition necessary for a Ph. D. in Nursing, are given. The main part is given by
some defined aspects of the topic such as: Science and technology indicators, scientific production styles, research and
scientific-technological development; and by the main part of the present study: Research Areas and Lines, its
conceptualization and definition; Research Groups and Centers, conceptualizationand definition, charasteristics of an
Excellency Group and indicators for its own evaluation; and finally some nursing experiences, concretely one in Colombia
and another in Brazil, are presented
