PROFILE OF NURSING DIAGNOSES OF THE BURNT PATIENTS

This study aimed at describing the profile of nursing diagnoses of the burnt patients admitted in a Burnt Unit of the "Hospital das Clínicas da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeiráo Preto". All records of burnt patients admitted from November/91 to December / 93 were reviewed and the following data were recorded: age, sex, size of the burn, burn causing agent, burn length, affected body area, circumstances of the accident and the nursing diagnoses. One hundred two of the 138 records, (73.9%) presented a nursing diagnosis registry at the moment of admission. Fifty three different diagnoses were identified, nine with the frequeney of which varied from 40% to 99%. Four of the nine commonest diagnosis belong to the pattern of human response EXCHANGING (impaired skin integrity - 99%; high risk for infection - 97%; high risk for altered body temperature - 76.4%; fluid volume déficit - 64.7%); 3 belong to the pattern MOVING (physical mobility impaired - 70.5%; self-care déficit: bathing/hygiene - 63.7%; self-care déficit: dressing/grooming - 44.1%); and 2 belong to the pattern FEELING (anxiety - 58.8%; acute physical pain - 41.1%).
